Step Up
Sync help

Steps not showing?

Most sync problems take a minute to fix. Work through these in order.

Good to know: steps count when you open Step Up

Open the app before bed, so your evening walk counts too.

1

Open Step Up and let it sync

Your steps update each time you open the app. While it syncs, the numbers roll. If something is wrong, your step card tells you.

Last synced 2 hours agoYou're offlineSteps aren't syncing right now

If you are offline, connect to the internet and open the app again. If steps aren't syncing, your steps are not lost. Step Up keeps trying.

2

Let Step Up read your steps

Step Up needs your permission to read your step count. If it cannot read them, your step card shows a "Connect to Apple Health" or "Set up Health Connect" button. Tap it. Or change it here:

iPhone
  1. Open the Health app.
  2. Tap your profile picture, then Apps.
  3. Tap Step Up and turn on Steps.
Android
  1. Open Settings and search for Health Connect.
  2. Tap App permissions, then Step Up.
  3. Allow Steps.

In a distance challenge, also turn on Walking + Running Distance on iPhone, or Distance on Android.

3

Check your watch or other step app

Step Up reads from Apple Health or Health Connect. Your watch app must save your steps there first.

iPhone
  1. Open your watch app, for example Garmin or Fitbit.
  2. Turn on sharing with Apple Health.
Android
  1. Open your watch app, for example Samsung Health, Garmin or Fitbit.
  2. Turn on sync with Health Connect.
4

Look for the blue tick

A blue tick means we have checked your total. In a distance challenge, EST. means we worked out the km from steps, because distance is not shared. Turn on distance (step 2) to get your real km.

8,760 4.2 km EST.
